Archbishop Coveney came to visit 5th and 6th class on Friday April 24th. During his visit the children asked him many and varied questions. As the Archbishop also went to school in Knocknamanagh Primary School and was brought up on a farm there were great similarities between the pupils and himself. However he was able to tell them about the big changes since his days at school. This made for a wonderful insight into the history of the old school and life a pupil there.
During his time as Papal Nuncio he lived in many countries and the children were fascinated by his knowledge of these countries, their cultures and languages.
As grand-uncle to our own Hà-Lê Coveney, he was a very welcome visitor and we look forward to him presiding over our Confirmation Ceremony on Wednesday next. We are very grateful to him for taking time out of his busy schedule to come in and talk to us about his life and our forthcoming confirmation.
